FAQ Can I use a Korean-style ID photo for an HKID card or passport? Yes, if it meets the Immigration Department’s rules on size, background and recency. Retouching must not change your facial features, so tell the studio what the photo is for. How is it different from an MTR photo booth? A booth is self-service and prints in minutes. A Korean-style studio has a photographer and retouching, usually needs booking, and costs more. Immigration Department: HKSAR passport application (photo requirements)
