What ID photo booths cost in Japan (as the operators publish it)
There is no nationwide price for ID photo booths in Japan: even within one brand, the amount changes with the finish, the add-ons and the location. This page lists only amounts the operators state on their own websites, each with the original Japanese wording and the URL (checked 2026-10-13). Where an operator publishes nothing, we say so rather than filling the gap from press reports or reviews.
Prices vary by machine and location; check the price shown on the machine’s screen.

Brands are listed in alphabetical order of the operator’s English name, not by price.
Why the same brand can cost different amounts
Both operators that publish an amount put the conditions in the same sentence:
- ID VOX: 「仕上がりや証明写真機の設置場所によって異なりますが」 — it depends on the finish and on where the machine is. (ID VOX official site)
- Ki-Re-i: 「肌補正の有無やプリントの有無によって価格が変動しますが」 — it changes with skin correction and with whether you print. (DNP official site)
⇒ Prices can differ by location and machine; the amount on the machine’s screen is final. The figures here are the operators’ own guide ranges.
What the operators do not publish
- ID-Spot (DNP) and Photo-Me (ME Group Japan): no shooting price on their official sites. (ID-Spot official page, Photo-Me official page)
- The shooting fee when you apply for a My Number Card at the machine: none of the three operators states an amount (ID VOX only says you pay and then tap "apply").
- ID VOX digital copies: the app is described as free, but the site does not say whether receiving the photo data costs extra.
Paying: locations flagged for QR-code payment
- ID-Spot: 871 of 1,108 locations
- Ki-Re-i: 5,140 of 6,856 locations
- ID VOX: 1,307 of 1,320 locations
Our tally of the “QR決済” (QR-code payment) flag in each operator’s published location list; the unit is locations, not machines. Photo-Me’s official list has no payment field, so it is not shown.

This page records what each operator publishes. We reproduce it; we are not the rule. Photo specifications are set by each issuing authority and do change.

An official list only shows that an operator says a booth is there — not that it is still working today. Check with the host store or station before you make a special trip.
